Most of the paving we get called out to fix failed underneath, not on top. Water sat in the base, the crushed rock was never compacted properly, and two winters later the pavers rock under your feet. So that is where we spend the time.
We dig out to depth, lay and whacker a class 2 or class 3 crushed rock base in layers, screed the bedding sand, then set the pavers with tight consistent joints and falls that run water off the block. Cuts are done on a wet saw, not cracked in with a bolster.
Recycled red brick in herringbone or basket weave is the one people ask for most around the older parts of Ballarat, and it suits a weatherboard or brick veneer front better than anything modern. For newer estates in Lucas, Alfredton and Delacombe, large-format porcelain and granite look sharper.

How much does paving cost in Ballarat?

How long does a paving job take?
A front path is usually two to three days. A full alfresco or driveway runs about a week depending on weather and how the base dries out.
Do you do repairs to existing paving?
Yes, if the base is salvageable we lift, re-level and relay. If the base was never right we will tell you straight rather than take money to do it twice.
